롤 단조는 원형 또는 플랫 바 스톡의 두께를 줄이고 길이를 늘리는 공정입니다. 롤 단조는 각각 하나 이상의 모양의 홈을 포함하는 두 개의 원통형 또는 반원통형 롤을 사용하여 수행됩니다. 가열된 바가 롤에 삽입되고 그것이 특정 지점에 닿으면 롤이 회전하고 바가 기계를 통해 롤링되면서 점진적으로 모양이 만들어집니다. 그런 다음 조각을 다음 홈 세트로 옮기거나 뒤집어서 동일한 홈에 다시 삽입합니다. 이는 원하는 모양과 크기가 달성될 때까지 계속됩니다. 이 공정의 장점은 플래시가 없고 작업물에 유리한 입자 구조를 부여한다는 것입니다.
